The seven member South Korean boy band that began formation in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under the Big Hit Entertainment.
The seven member are :
(i) Jin
(ii) RM
(iii) J-Hope
(iv) Suga
(v) Jimin
(vi) V
(vii) Jungkook
Originally hip hop group, their musical style evolved to include a wide range of genre. After debuting 2013 with their single album 2 Cool 4 Skool, BTS released their first Korean-language studio album, Dark & Wild, and Japanese-Language studio album, Wake up in 2014. The second group Korean studio album, Wings (2016), they sell their first copies for one million copies in South Korea. In 2017 BTS crossed into the global music market, leading the Korean wave into US and breaking numerous sales records. They became the first Korean group to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for their single " Mic Drop" as well as the first Korean act to top the US Billboard 200chart with their studio album Love yourself Tear (2018). BTS became the fastest group the Beatles to earn four US number-one albums, doing so in less than two years
Why BTS is so popular ?
BTS become popular as they have with K-pop growing in popularity, they are simple making the music that people want to listen to while many K-pop songs are about relationships and love BTS cover subjects that other bands may not like bullying, elitism and mental health.
Is BTS actually disbanding ?
Jin the oldest member of the K-pop group, required by law to enlist by the end of the year. Jin, Suga, J- Hope, V, RM, and Jungkook have all extended their contract with Big Hit Entertainment. All seven boys have resigned with the company for another seven-year contract-through 2026.
